The Australian Riyadh GEC delegation
Upon returning home, our Founder has been appointed the 'Space Lead' for next year’s GEC in Melbourne. In the coming months setting the vision and mapping the opportunity for the 2023 GEC to assist entrepreneurs to become involved in space. Working with government and industry in the planning will make next year’s Space Stream of great value.
OPO being a Space company, are excited to highlight how going to space can help solve some of the biggest issues on Earth. Just as satellite observations are helping city planners to green the worlds 10,000 cities!

The GEC is a four-day congress with attendees from all over the world. Including ministers, eco-system builders, investors and entrepreneurs. With plenary sessions, breakout sessions and scheduled key events. It was a fantastic opportunity to network, build relationships and understand the growing KSA & wider MENA opportunity.
OPO was one of two Victorian startups sponsored to join the Australian delegation for the 2022 Global Entrepreneur Congress in Riyadh, KSA.
Successfully winning the sponsorship through a competitive process, we were delighted to represent the innovation ecosystem in Victoria as an Australian startup.

Global Entrepreneur Congress
With Saudi Arabia going through reform, and setting the 2030 vision - there is an electric atmosphere around growing new industries away from oil, which ultimately supports entrepreneurs. This was evident with the mega/giga-projects occurring; three centred around greening, and the additional ambition to plant 10 billion trees across KSA by 2040.
Trade missions such as this present the opportunity for export, building partnerships and understanding various regions of the world. We're glad for the opportunity to attend and grow our business into the MENA region. It's also an opportunity to highlight the Victorian innovation ecosystem and build relationships with the Australian delegation, together bringing impact back to Australia.
